How it works

Oftentimes, judges will assign community service instead of fines or jail time. Portland Court Voluntold will take your information, assess your needs and schedule, and match it to the needs and schedules of one or more of our partner agencies. We will give you your assignment and notify the agency or agencies of your work schedule. The agency will assign and supervise your work. At the end of your shift(s), the agency will report your hours and provide feedback. Portland Court Voluntold will track your hours, re-assign other shifts as necessary, and at the end of your service, provide a certified timesheet to the court for court records.

Why choose Portland Court Voluntold?

Who can volunteer?

Anyone who has been charged with an infraction, violation or light misdemeanor can sign up. Individuals with a current charge or a history of more serious crimes (higher level misdemeanors or any felonies, including violence, pornography, or sex crimes), will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Placements may be limited.

Need volunteer help with some projects?
